Who has scooped up the ocean in his two hands, or measured the sky between his thumb and little finger, who has put all the earth's dirt in one of his baskets, weighed each mountain and hill? Who could ever have told God what to do or taught him his business? What expert would he have gone to for advice, what school would he attend to learn justice? What god do you suppose might have taught him what he knows, showed him how things work? So who even comes close to being like God? To whom or what can you compare him? Have you not been paying attention? Have you not been listening? Haven't you heard these stories all your life? Don't you understand the foundation of all things? God sits high above the round ball of earth. The people look like mere ants. He stretches out the skies like a canvas— yes, like a tent canvas to live under. "So—who is like me? Who holds a candle to me?" says The Holy. (Isaiah 40:12-25, MSG)
Meditate on the passage above, read it again and again, and as you do consider how and where you see God’s holiness. Now take a look at the images on the screen. What emotions do these images conjure up for you? How do you experience God’s holiness? Is it in a church or in an open field? Is it in a flickering candle flame or a burning sunset? Is it in hands lifted in praise or in arms outstretched, nailed to a cross? Spend some time reflecting on these images and consider how God’s holiness is evident in all creation. As you do this, offer up a prayer to God, asking Him to reveal His holiness a new and profound way. After you have prayed, you may meditate further on these images or continue on to the next station.
